Programme outline

This programme has been designed to provide a flexible learning experience, allowing delegates to tailor their journey by selecting individual modules or completing the full programme. It starts with the fundamental building blocks of sustainability and progresses to strategic development, ensuring delegates can apply their knowledge effectively and gain a comprehensive understanding of key sustainability concepts, master practical skills, and learn how to drive impactful change across industries.

The programme will cover the following topics:

Introduction to Sustainability (Compulsary, Self-Paced) Participants will explore the definition of sustainability, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the interconnections between climate change and the environment. The session will also introduce real-world sustainability challenges, both locally and globally, with a focus on key considerations that influence these challenges. Completion of this module is required before proceeding to other modules.

The Role of Climate Dynamics in Shaping a Sustainable Future
This session will provide an in-depth understanding of climate physics, the impact of climate cycles, and how scientific evidence informs climate policies. Participants will learn about carbon budgets, climate cycle feedback mechanisms, and the latest research on achieving net-zero emissions.

Climate Mitigation Strategies for a Sustainable Future
Delegates will explore strategies for mitigating climate change, including emission reduction approaches, policy frameworks, and the role of carbon management. This module includes discussions on global mitigation efforts and the implications for businesses and organisations.

Programme structure and teaching methods

The programme consists of:

4 – 32 live online learning hours depending on the number of modules taken.

Lectures f rom experts, whole group discussions, small group break out activities, practical projects and case studies.

14 sessions. Each session is 2 hours 15 minutes in length. Expert talks will be pre-recorded, allowing delegates to watch them at their convenience, followed by interactive live sessions focused on discussions and facilitator-led engagement

All sessions will take place live online delivering via MS Teams or Zoom.
