About the UCAT
The University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) assesses a range of abilities including:
- Verbal reasoning
- Decision making
- Quantitative reasoning
- Situational judgement
You need to take the UCAT if you are applying to:

How to register for the UCAT
You will need to create a UCAT account to register for the test on the UCAT website.
Account registration opens on Tuesday 13 May 2025.
Testing starts Monday 7 July and ends Friday 26 September.
You can take the UCAT at a Pearson VUE test centre.
Test centres are located worldwide in more than 5,500 locations in over 180 countries. You can find your nearest one on the Pearson VUE website.

There is an entry fee for the UCAT.
If you are a UK student and are concerned about the cost, financial support may be available.

Have a go at some past papers, restricting yourself to the time that you would have during a real test. This will help you to understand what is expected and prepare you to approach questions in an exam environment.

We don't expect you to get every question right – more information about how your tests results will be used alongside the rest of your UCAS application will be available on our course pages from February 2025.

Your results will automatically be shared with Imperial by Pearson VUE.
